Dyslexia Assessments

As a fully qualified Educational Psychologist, I can also conduct dyslexia and/or dyscalculia assessments for children who are having ongoing difficulties with literacy or maths.

• It is recommended to wait until the child is at least 7 years old before assessing for dyslexia/dyscalculia
   

• The child should have received additional learning support in school prior to assessment
   

• The assessment process will look at their attainment in literacy and maths, their phonological awareness, their working memory and processing speed. All of these areas can be implicated in specific learning difficulties
